Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore, is an amazing Hollywood author and actress who's talents have brought the attention of critics and acclaim. She's the daughter of a Sagittarius born on December 3 1960, in North Carolina. She's the eldest child from Peter Moore Smith a paratrooper and Anne, a psychology student. She's English as well as Scottish. Moore's dad moved around frequently due to his job. It was hard for her to find and keep friendships. Moore's family moved from the United States to Germany and she attended Frankfurt American High School, where her first acting roles were in plays. She continued her education at Boston University where she graduated in 1983 with B.F.A. A thesis on Theater. Moore is a theater graduate who attended college in New York and started her acting career off Broadway following her move to New York. In 1985, she made her debut on the screen for the first time in The Edge of Night. In 1986, she played two roles as Frannie as well as Sabrina Hughes in As the World Turns, which was her first break. Moore got her first role as a lead on the screen in Safe (1995). Steven Spielberg's casting of Moore as the lead in Jurassic Park: The Lost World which was one of the top grossing films of 1997, marked a major change in Moore's career. She received an SAG nomination in 1999 for the part she was in Magnolia which was a highly praised film. The Hours, a 2002 film in which she co-starred with Nicole Kidman and Meryl Strreep was nominated for 9 Academy Awards. In 2007, she published Freckleface Strawberry and quickly became an N.Y.T. best-seller, leading to it being adapted into a novel and musical.
